About the role

The Special Education Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) supports special education programs through coaching, meeting facilitation, compliance monitoring, and staff development coordination.

Responsibilities

• Implement special education programs and supports through coaching and running effective special education meetings.
• Monitor compliance in special education paperwork and files.
• Facilitate and coordinate with psychologists and program coordinators on staff development.

Requirements

• Valid California Special Education teaching credential.
• Either Preliminary Education Specialist Instruction Credential: Mild to moderate Support Needs (MMSN) or Extensive Support Needs (ESN).
• Bachelor's degree, including all courses to meet credential requirements.

Pay

Salary range: $59,573 – $113,269 (Classified Salary Schedule #4), dependent on experience, plus an education stipend for Master's and/or Doctorate degrees.

Schedule

186 work days per year (approximately 10 months). Full‑time employment.
