- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meets "Highly Qualified" paraprofessional standards
- Satisfactory background check
- Pass drug screening
Responsibilities
- Assist in the educational and social-emotional development of students under the guidance of the classroom teacher/case manager
- Carry out instructional plans as prepared by the supervising teacher
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for students
- Provide support and assistance for students inside and outside the classroom to facilitate learning and participation
- Assist classroom teacher with data collection
- Support students with behavioral and/or emotional needs
- Assist classroom teacher in preparing work for students
- Assist with providing modifications and accommodations as appropriate
- Assist students with self-help skills
- Assist students with mobility needs
- Physically assist with lifting and positioning of students with physical needs
- Maintain student confidentiality
- Work cooperatively as a member of the educational team
