About the role
As a Tool Maker at Rocky Mountain Metal Container- End Plant in Golden, Colorado, you will be part of the Maintenance Team in Production Operations. This role is critical to ensuring our production facility runs smoothly, maximizing output of our great products. You will perform mechanical duties such as set-up, adjustment, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance inspections, overhauls, and equipment improvements. You will also assist in training new employees and trainees while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
This position reports to the Asset Care Manager and follows a weekly rotating 4x4, 12-hour schedule.
Responsibilities
- Perform set-up, adjustment, timing, troubleshooting, and replacement of equipment.
- Dismantle, inspect, and rebuild progressive die sets to ensure conformance to specifications or production requirements.
- Adhere to machine shop safety, GMP, OSHA, EPA, FDA, Lock Out/Tag Out/Try Out safety rules, codes, policies, and Confined Entry policies.
- Follow waste disposal and accumulation requirements as outlined by the HAZMAT policy.
- Work as a self-motivated individual with minimal supervision to contribute to customer satisfaction.
- Design out maintenance where applicable and improve equipment reliability through proper maintenance procedures.
- Reduce unplanned downtime by collaborating with the Maintenance Lead to make necessary equipment improvements and update planned maintenance task lists.
- Use data (e.g., Infinity) to ensure product integrity and follow specific procedures to determine root-cause failures, addressing problems rather than symptoms.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Extensive mechanical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Journeyman Toolmaker and/or on-the-job experience in a Toolroom/Machine shop related field in Manufacturing.
- Experience working safely within high-speed manufacturing environments.
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to End Manufacturing workflows.
- Proficiency and safety in the use of hand tools, mills, lathes, and CNC machines.
- Ability to read and understand manuals, blueprints, and drawings.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring devices such as dial indicators, micrometers, vernier, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.
- Willingness to work in areas with varying degrees of noise, dust, humidity, cold, and hot temperatures.
- Ability to perform tasks involving occasional stooping, crawling in cramped quarters, and routine lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- SAP experience preferred.

Pay
Hourly rate: $44.81
