About the role

We have an exciting opening for a Tool Maker in Elyria, OH. Your work will directly impact the operation by creating and maintaining precision tooling, gauges, and fixtures that keep our production systems running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Make and re-grind tooling to close tolerances used on machines throughout the operation.
• Rework gauges and gauge plugs.
• Check vendor tooling on a limited basis, repair fixtures, jigs, and tools utilizing complex prints and interface with engineering.
• Visit shop floor to troubleshoot issues.
• Requisition supplies as needed.
• Work independently, selecting materials, standards, and methods to be used.
• Proceed from own conception in the absence of specifications or design.
• Train others and assign work.
• Maintain a neat and clean work area.
• Uphold the highest degree of quality, safety, cost reduction, and customer service continuously.
• Perform additional duties as requested.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman’s card in Tool and Die, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Consistently meets or exceeds commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
• Knowledge of general production systems.
