Responsibilities
- Promote and support a safety incident-free workplace by utilizing proper precautions and systems.
- Respond to emergencies or potential emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
- Observe, respond to, and report any instances of product, service, or quality system nonconformities.
- Maintain security diligence, including controlling key cards, preventing unauthorized access to facilities, and ensuring proper handling of equipment and confidential information.
- Successfully complete all primary duties and associated training requirements.
- Pause work and notify the Safety Lead if unsafe work conditions or practices are identified.
- Initiate actions to prevent product, service, or quality system nonconformities.
- Recommend and implement solutions through designated channels.
- Suggest and support continuous improvement initiatives for products, processes, and systems, and verify implementation effectiveness.
Requirements
- Experience in designing and developing plastic injection molds for prototype and production manufacturing.
- Ability to update, modify, and maintain existing and legacy mold designs.
- Collaboration skills with Application Development Engineers (PD) on new projects and product design modifications.
- Experience working with Plant Managers and Tooling Managers to ensure mold designs meet plant-specific requirements.
- Knowledge of improving manufacturability by updating and refining product designs.
- Proficiency in creating 3D CAD models of piece parts, mold components, and tooling.
- Experience in generating Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new mold construction.
- Experience in maintaining and revising mold and tooling design drawings.
- Experience in developing and revising piece-part detail drawings and customer documentation.
- Experience in communicating with external vendors regarding new mold builds and updates to existing tooling.
- Experience in evaluating prototype and production parts and implementing necessary tooling adjustments.
- Experience in following up with plant teams to ensure satisfaction with tooling performance.
- Experience in performing all duties in compliance with applicable ISO standards.
- Experience in adhering to and promoting all company safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in tooling design and development.
- Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, knowledge of injection molding processes, ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
