Tool Room Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Properly set-up and operate tool room machinery including CNC machines without assistance or unnecessary supervision
• Produce and assemble quality work pieces from drawings or blueprints to tolerances up to +-.0005" without assistance or unnecessary supervision and in a timely manner.
• Assemble dies, jigs and fixtures as per print with minimal supervision
• Maintain clean orderly work area and follow all safety rules
• Safely position, secure or move work pieces as needed
• Perform routine maintenance on tool room machines

Requirements

• Must have 2 years machining experience or approved schooling
• Good understanding of tool steel properties and heat treating characteristics
• Sufficient in blueprint and CAD drawings
• Possess a quality and safety conscious attitude and ability to follow step by step instructions from supervisor
• Ability to weld a plus
