Tool Room Apprentice

VAL-CO is a leader in commercial poultry, egg, and swine production equipment, specializing in world-famous poultry watering and feeding systems. We are currently looking for a Full-Time Tool Room Apprentice in our Coldwater, Ohio facility.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
• Advancement opportunities available

Pay

Pay range: $24.40 – $30.50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Properly set up and operate tool room machinery, including CNC machines, without assistance or unnecessary supervision
• Produce and assemble quality work pieces from drawings or blueprints to tolerances up to ±0.0005" without assistance or unnecessary supervision and in a timely manner
• Assemble dies, jigs, and fixtures as per print with minimal supervision
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow all safety rules
• Safely position, secure, or move work pieces as needed
• Perform routine maintenance on tool room machines

Requirements

• Must have 2 years machining experience or approved schooling
• Good understanding of tool steel properties and heat treating characteristics
• Sufficient in blueprint and CAD drawings
• Provide own machinist tools and be proficient in using them
• Must pass company machinist math test
• Possess a quality and safety conscious attitude and ability to follow step-by-step instructions from supervisor
• Ability to weld is a plus
