Tool Maker Apprentice
About the role
The Muskegon Toolmaker uses CAD models to manufacture fixture and gage details, assemble components to complete functional assemblies within specified tolerances, and perform necessary repairs to maintain production.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture and repair fixtures and gauges using NC WEDM and VMC machines, as well as traditional tool-making equipment like knee-mills and surface grinders.
- Use CAM and CAD software to assist in manufacturing processes.
- Make necessary fixture and gage repairs to keep production running smoothly.
- Ensure parts produced meet blueprint specifications.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Journeyman Apprenticeship Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 12 months' experience building aerospace tooling
- Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift (Apprentice will work all shifts)
- Must supply own hand tools
- At least 18 years of age by the time of joining
- Must be able to prove U.S. person status (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee)
