Toolmaker Apprentice
About the role
The Toolmaker Apprentice is an entry-level position designed to meet the requirements for the State and Click Bond Apprenticeship programs. This role offers opportunities for hands-on training and education in the designated trade as part of the Apprentice Program.
Responsibilities
- Develop skills through hands-on training and education in the designated trade.
- Achie optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery while ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction on both new and existing tools and equipment.
- Commit to and participate in 3- or 4-year Apprentice Training Program depending on the program chosen.
- Attend schooling online or in person to satisfy the needs of the apprenticeship and meet or exceed the minimum requirements for grades.
- Attend evening classes if required.
- Learn and retain skills and knowledge through hands-on training given by mentors.
- Consistently demonstrate proficiency in applying learned skills.
- Continue to grow job-specific knowledge and utilize tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.
- Perform to the specified work of production, safety, quality, and productivity standards for the assigned jobs.
- Keep machines and work area neat, clean, and orderly.
- Keep all necessary records and complete all necessary forms to comply with the apprenticeship program for the State and Click Bond.
- Comply with all appropriate Click Bond Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate excellent teamwork and cooperation skills and a positive attitude.
- Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
- Demonstrate understanding and observance of all safety guidelines and ensure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
- Absorb and maintain clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter, and be detail-oriented.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 2 years of vocational training preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages.
- Ability to operate and perform basic computer functions.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products, CAD, and SolidWorks is a plus.
- Ability to write and read English.
Physical Demands
- Continuous long reaches, bending, standing, while handling light materials.
- Sometimes requires using large wrenches, crowbars, or lifting or moving heavy material or parts.
- Requires the ability to move 50 pounds, and regularly lift/move 25 pounds.
