Tool Mold Maker - Apprentice

What You Will Do

• Work with the lead mold maker to assist in building new tooling per CAD or detailed prints.
• Evaluate, maintain, and repair existing molds and production tooling.
• Develop skills toward Journeyman-level proficiency while maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications.
• Support all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.
• Identify and communicate any possible tooling problems to the lead mold maker or supervisor.
• Work well with lead mold makers and learn from mold maintenance technicians and experienced toolmakers.
• Operate tool room equipment with training.
• Perform mold maintenance and assist with in-press mold changes.
• Be willing to work overtime based on production needs.

Required Personal Protective Equipment

• Safety shoes must be worn at all times during scheduled work hours.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

• Enrollment in or willingness to complete a Tool & Die or Moldmaking Apprenticeship program required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent required.
• A basic understanding or interest in mold-building techniques and plastic injection molding.
• The ability to read, interpret, and learn engineering designs and computer-based CAD plans and models.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills and being detail-oriented.
• The ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• The willingness to obtain personal precision tools over time.
• Prior Forklift Experience preferred.
