Tool & Die Maker (Afternoons 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM) $36.84/hr. + .60 Shift Differential

2nd shift position based in Wayne, MI (Monday–Friday, 3:30 pm – 12:00 midnight) with an hourly wage of $36.84 plus shift premium for Journeyman cardholders.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot machine assemblies to perform necessary repairs on tools, manually-operated dies, and progressive dies
• Ensure accuracy of work performed by conducting test runs on tools and/or dies to meet specifications
• Make adjustments to work performed when needed
• Independently select proper metals and materials to meet project specifications
• Set up and operate both conventional and CNC machine tools
• Interface with internal and external customers to ensure demands are met
• Complete all paperwork, transactions, tags, etc. accurately
• Adhere to Life Saving Rules: Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO), Machine Guarding/Bypassing Safety Controls, and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety protocols
• Ensure Safety, Delivery, Quality, and Cost metrics are met daily
• Support 5S initiatives in assigned work areas
• Other job duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3–5 years of Tool & Die making experience; Journeyman cardholder status required
• 1–3 years of manufacturing experience preferred
• Experience using CAD and CNC software preferred
• Basic math and verbal skills
• Excellent technical skills, including problem-solving and troubleshooting mechanical issues
• Ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery
• Flexibility in shift scheduling, including overtime and weekends
