Tool & Die Maker - $36.84/hr. - Days (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)

1st shift position based in Wayne, MI (Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm). Journeyman cardholders earn an hourly wage of $36.84.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot machine assemblies to perform necessary repairs on tools, manually-operated dies, and progressive dies.
• Ensure accuracy of work performed by conducting test runs on tools and/or dies to meet specifications; make adjustments as needed.
• Independently select proper metals and materials to meet project specifications.
• Set up and operate both conventional and CNC machine tools.
• Interface with internal and external customers to ensure demands are met.
• Complete all paperwork, transactions, tags, and documentation accurately.
• Adhere to Life Saving Rules: Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO), Machine Guarding/Bypassing Safety Controls, and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety protocols.
• Ensure Safety, Delivery, Quality, and Cost metrics are met daily.
• Support 5S initiatives in assigned work areas.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of Tool & Die making experience; Journeyman cardholder status required.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience using CAD and CNC software preferred.
• Basic math and verbal skills.
• Excellent technical skills, including problem-solving and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
• Ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery.
• Flexibility in shift scheduling, including overtime and weekends.
