Tool Crib Operator - Level 3
Position Summary
The Tool Crib Operator Level 3 can perform more duties per standard work, including process changeovers and troubleshooting with minimal guidance or help from a trainer or supervisor. They can recognize and solve some non-routine problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Defines the severity of an issue and escalates appropriately.
- Performs gage searches, train new personnel and troubleshoots.
- Suggests improvements for tool and gage handling and organization.
- SUBMIT WORK ORDERS AS NEEDED.
- FOLLOWS ESTABLISHED PURCHASE ORDER PROCEDURES.
- TRAINS OTHERS ON HOW TO SUBMIT SIS FORMS.
- TROUBLESHOOTS ROUTINE TOOLING PROBLEMS ESCALATES TO THE APPROPRIATE FUNCTIONAL GROUP.
- LEADS SHIFT START-UP MEETINGS.
- SUPPORTS CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 18 months (about 1 and a half years) manufacturing experience with a focus on inventory control or supply chain
- Competent in basic blueprint reading
- Mechanical skills and aptitude
- Knowledge of MRP II principles and/or knowledge of basic warehouse principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Basic shop math skills
- Capable of balancing workload in a fast-paced environment

Promotes own ideas and information with others. Drill-down to root cause in all work order solutions. Communicate through appropriate escalation channels when required. Is a voice for Quality and will take time to explain theories and philosophies.
- ACCOUNTABILITY: Drives team goals and results. Takes ownership of the actions and results of the team as a whole. Coordinate, communicate, and execute in the absence of supervision. Control emotions and reactions according to the situation and the audience. Provides accurate and detailed documentation including the use of SIS. Provides feedback to Supervision and guidance for other specialists in training.

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
