About the role
As a Tool Crib Assistant II, you'll play a vital role in supporting aviation operations by managing and maintaining the tools and equipment essential to daily production and maintenance activities. You'll help ensure technicians and production teams have access to the tools and equipment they need to keep aircraft programs moving forward safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Receive, store, inventory, and issue tools, machine tool fixtures, dies, gauges, and measuring devices.
- Clean, inspect, lubricate, and perform minor repairs on tools and equipment.
- Monitor tool condition and ensure equipment remains safe, functional, and available for operational needs.
- Track and manage surplus, damaged, or obsolete equipment.
- Maintain accurate records and inventory control processes.
- Support compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Assist in ensuring efficient workflow continuity by keeping required tooling readily available.
- Work with teams across operations to support aviation-related activities and equipment needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Typically 2+ years of relevant experience in tool crib, inventory, maintenance, manufacturing, or related environments.
- Basic understanding of the use, maintenance, and repair of:
- Hand tools
- Power tools
- Tooling equipment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with TCMax Asset Management Suite.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- Experience supporting the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
- Military experience or veteran background.
- Additional technical training or higher-level degree (may substitute for some experience requirements).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on position supporting a safety-sensitive aviation environment.
- Frequently:
- Walk, stand, sit, climb stairs, and move throughout the facility.
- Use repetitive hand and finger motions requiring strong dexterity.
- Lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Use close, distance, and depth perception to inspect tools and equipment.
- Work around loud manufacturing or operational environments.
- Occasionally:
- Be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Be exposed to fumes or hazardous materials.
- Work with aviation and industrial equipment requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.
