Responsibilities
- Manage Dimension Control Technicians (DCTs) and metrology engineers across multiple programs.
- Develop technical product and tooling metrology statements of work.
- Collaborate with Tool Maintenance site leadership to cross-functionally train personnel for effective and efficient support of each statement of work.
- Ensure projects/designs are completed on schedule and within budget, including management of indirect budget.
- Support tooling/program efforts for product and tooling metrology inspections during production transition and sustained efforts.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve processes/procedures to support program efforts in collaboration with other Aeronautics Systems Sector Tooling Management.
- Lead a group of 15 to 25 hourly non-exempt employees, metrology engineers, and/or level 1 managers.
- Manage and coordinate metrology activities across programs to ensure appropriate staffing and de-staffing actions.
- Own responsibility for program and technical performance, providing objective-oriented directions to reporting personnel.
- Monitor and manage risk items to ensure timely and effective mitigating actions.
- Promote Lean, Knowledge Management, and other process improvement initiatives, including sharing lessons learned and best practices.
- Oversee personnel performance evaluation, merit planning, employee development and training, succession planning, and utilization of EVMS to manage direct costs.
This position follows a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off, managing teams across different shifts. The role offers exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers in a friendly team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related professional/military experience in manufacturing, aerospace, design, tooling, tool engineering, manufacturing engineering, integration, and/or fabrication industries, or a master's degree with 3 years of related experience.
- 2 years of prior management/leadership experience.
- Availability to manage across shifts.
- Active U.S. Government Secret or higher clearance (background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation).
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable period.
Preferred Qualifications
- STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering, or Mathematical).
- Previous supervisory and management experience in large projects, with an emphasis on metrology, machining, tool fabrication, manufacturing, assembly processes, and/or flight hardware production.
- Experience managing shop schedules with dynamic priority changes.
- Aerospace or aviation industry experience managing metrology inspection, machine shops (3, 4, & 5 axis), tool fabrication shops, and/or shop flow scheduling.
- Experience with Project Management and Microsoft Office tools.
Pay
Primary salary range: $115,000.00 – $172,400.00. The final offer considers scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Vice Presidents or Directors may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
