You will be part of our Advanced Technology for Surface Transportation business class, supporting the emerging areas of ITS, Lighting, Signalization, and Tolls design, for a diverse range of clients. Primary Responsibilities In the role of Technology and Tolling Consultant, we'll count on you to: Lead the development of work products such as technical documents or reports, technical plans and specifications, PowerPoint presentations, Visio diagrams, and Excel modelsDesign and develop tolling concepts and reports including development of roadside and back office system requirements, specifications, and performance metricsReview and assessment of tolling projects and solutionsDevelop Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E) design packages for toll systems and facilities including all electronic toll collection systems for toll roads, High Occupancy Toll (HOT) & Express Lanes, and multi-type toll plazasSupport field work with technical staff to collect site specific data as projects requireAssist with the design & implementation of toll related ITS projects including national ITS Standards, Active Traffic Management, communications systems, power distribution networks, and traffic control equipment.Support TSM&O activities including serving as extension of staff to FDOT TSM&O office and various other on-call technical activities Reconcile tolling data across systems and vendors to verify accuracy and completenessAnalyze business processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and accuracySupport quality assurance reviews and recommend enhancementsAssist with the development of local HDR office transportation programs and serve as a technical expert nationally.Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contract administration, and design and production meetings Preferred Qualifications Experience working with state DOTs and/or Toll / Thruway / Turnpike Authorities.Familiarity with toll collection technologies and equipment, electronic payment systems, video systems, toll infrastructure, traffic management, information and communication technologies for toll system design and operationsFamiliarity with data management and analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.Demonstrate growth toward becoming a nationally recognized expert in a tolling practice areaInvolvement in professional organizations in the tolling and transportation technology field such as IBTTA and ITS America Required Qualifications Bachelor's degreeA minimum of 10 years' experience in ITS and traffic engineering for urban and rural highways, major and minor interchanges and intersections Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. Knowledge of regulations of state and federal transportation agencies Proficiency with Microsoft Office Experience using HCS, CORSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic and other software packages Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and ability to work in a team environment An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
