TOC - CLN Precertification Specialist/Registration Floater

About the role

The Precertification Specialist/Registration Floater at The Orthopaedic Center is responsible for contacting insurance companies to verify benefits and authorization requirements for orthotic and prosthetic devices. They also communicate benefit information to clinicians and ensure they are up to date on patient coverage.

Responsibilities

• Contact insurance companies to verify benefits and authorization requirements for orthotic and prosthetic devices.
• Communicate benefit information to clinicians and ensure they are up to date on patient coverage.
• Absorb and relay insurance information to patients regarding their coverage for prescribed items.
• Schedule patient appointments, collect deposits, verify insurance, assist with check-in and check-out duties, review and prepare patient charts, and perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Coding, AR, Insurance reimbursement knowledge required. Three years insurance and/or billing experience, and one year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Additional Skills/Abilities: Ability to work under pressure, outstanding organizational and writing skills, ability to speak clearly and concisely, independent, self-starting and highly motivated, proven positive, "teamwork" attitude in work history.
