Patient Registration Specialist - Float

Highlights

• The Patient Registration Specialist shall be responsible for pre-registration, registration, payer identification and verification, referral to financial counseling, and point of service collections.
• The Specialist shall ensure that data gathered and entered to the computer system(s) of patient demographic and benefit information is accurate.
• The Specialist shall verify benefits eligibility and limitations, coordination of benefits, and determine and collect the patient's financial responsibility at the point of service.
• This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Education / Experience

• A high school graduate or equivalent required.
• An associate’s degree in healthcare or business-related field preferred.
• Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) desirable.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
• Training experience a plus.
• Knowledge of government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
• Strong team leadership skills, strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
• Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and excellent organizational skills.

• Able to develop trust with leaders in the organizations.
