Title Operator - Mixer, Helper

About the role

Responsible for mixing dough by batches by following established formulas using various Mixers.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

• Operates mixers, liquid meters, flour scales
• Adjusts formulas according to conditions
• Hand scales small ingredients
• Loads by hand bulk materials
• Controls temperature and consistency of the dough
• Set–up and changes over equipment
• Conduct pre-ops
• Keeps work area clean and orderly, in compliance with GMP standards
• Ability to work overtime has been and always will be an Essential Function of this position
• Regular and consistent Attendance has been and always will be an Essential Function of this position
• Follow all GMP's, food safety, and quality policies
• Ensures all GMP and all Food hygiene and Food safety standards are in compliance
• Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen, or magnet deficiencies, glass breakage, and pest harborage
• Ensure compliance in the areas of food defense, food regulations, and product / process quality; provide adequate coaching as needed
• Record accurate and legible results on documentation
• Provide adequate housekeeping at all times

Qualifications

• Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Special certification may be required for use of forklift and chemicals
• Knowledge, skills, and ability to operate computer programs as needed
• One year experience in a manufacturing/ industrial environment
• Medium to high degree of judgment required
• Basic math skills necessary

Physical Requirements

• Moderate degree of physical activity on a frequent basis
• Must be able to lift 55 lbs
• Repetitive standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, grasping, climbing, reaching, and moving about the facility
• Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements
• Works in high noise area and wears the appropriate hearing protection
• Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
• Exposed to cold/ heat/ humidity
• Able to work a multi shift environment
