About the Role
This position supports the Autism-Primary program for grades K-2. The schedule is 9 months per year with 7 hours per day.
Responsibilities
- Work with children in a special education setting.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent (GED, foreign equivalency, etc.).
- Minimum of 48 credits from an accredited college or university or a passing score on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) ParaPro assessment.
- Experience working with children.
- Current CPR/AED certificate from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or a similar organization. Certification must be maintained for the duration of the assignment and must include in-person, hands-on training (online courses are not accepted). A copy of the front and back of the certificate must be uploaded with the application.
Preferred Qualifications
- Signing abilities (for the hearing-impaired program).
- One year of experience working with special education children.
Documents Required at Time of Application
- High school transcript or equivalent (GED, foreign equivalency, etc.).
- College transcript(s) from an accredited institution, if applicable, or copy of passing score on the ETS ParaPro assessment.
- Current CPR/AED certificate (front and back).
- Specific documented evidence of training and experience to satisfy qualifications.
- For out-of-district applicants: three most recent years of work experience, including dates of unemployment, schooling, and volunteer work, under the “Experience and Credentials” section of the application.
