About the role

The STAR program is designed to provide additional support to intermediate grades 3 through 5 students who may need extra help in areas such as social/emotional learning, behavior management, and academic support.

Responsibilities

• Support students in developing positive social skills and emotional intelligence
• Work collaboratively with teachers to implement classroom strategies and interventions
• Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field
• Current California teaching credential or eligibility for one
• Experience working with elementary school students
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications

• Passing scores on the California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET)
• Knowledge of child development and psychology
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage student behavior effectively
• Proficiency in using technology tools for educational purposes
