Title Clerk

About the role

This position supports Beacon Credit Union’s mission of “Dedicated to Our Member’s Financial Success” by delivering outstanding service to both internal and external members. The role focuses on vehicle titles, insurance, claims, and lien tracking to protect the credit union’s interests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor vehicle titles, insurance, and claims.
• Maintain the vehicle tracking program (currently VINTEK).
• Ensure credit union liens are recorded on titles at the Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Request titles promptly and accurately for repossession and bankruptcy purposes, updating systems accordingly.
• Verify timely receipt of incoming titles with liens properly procured to protect the credit union’s lien interest.
• Apply thorough knowledge of DMV procedures in Virginia and North Carolina; research other states linked to the loan portfolio to perfect liens.
• Procure liens on collateral involving the Virginia and North Carolina Game and Inland Fisheries and the State Corporation Commissions for UCC filings.
• Within VINTEK, work the pending titles report, track incoming titles, apply for lost-in-transit titles, and release titles.

Requirements

• 6 months to 2 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
• Some DMV experience is a plus.
• High school education or GED.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
