About the Role

First American’s Homebuilder Services division is looking to add a Title Assistant to our growing team. In this role, you will work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting supporting a Title team in a wide range of duties, including creating and maintaining title files and documenting and recording all research. This position administratively supports timely escrow closings and title recordings for new build transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the closing process of builder real estate transactions by assisting with administering escrow accounts, making deposits, issuing checks, building, and disbursing wires, preparing invoices, routing title comments and underwriting requests, ordering title and tax updates, assembling and calculating pricing information, recording fees and transfer tax information
  • Search, examine, and interpret commercial real estate documents
  • Audit calculations and legal documents for accuracy
  • Communicate recording information and prepare legal property documents such as endorsements and supplementals
  • Conduct title research to compile chain of title
  • Create title files and prepare endorsements and supplemental documents

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and eagerness to learn
  • Natural curiosity and enjoyment in researching the history and background of transactions
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment and contribute to delivering beyond customer expectations
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite and ability to quickly adapt to new software applications and technologies
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of title-related experience preferred

Pay

Pay Range: $20.31 - $27.09 Hourly. This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
