Tire Repair Employee
About the Role
Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement of tires on mobile equipment including Haul trucks, water trucks, fuel trucks, pickups, and other equipment used in and around the mine. Responsibilities include servicing tires, diagnosing tire and wheel issues, patches, plugs, stems, and making tire replacement decisions. Conduct preventative maintenance by checking for tire and wheel issues such as damage, wear, tread depth, pressure, temperature, and monitoring for heat bubbles. May perform basic welding tasks using a cutting torch and operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, small mobile equipment, and impact guns.
Responsible for maintaining work orders, a clean and safe work area, and performing work area inspections. May perform hot tire replacement and follow hot tire safety procedures. Additional duties as required.
Responsibilities

- Operate forklifts, cranes, small mobile equipment, and impact guns.
- Maintain work orders and ensure a clean, safe work area.
- Perform work area inspections and hot tire replacements following safety procedures.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience in tire repair or mechanical repair and maintenance, or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair.
- Ability to read and use schematics.
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (including Line of Progression (LOP) requirements for internal employees where applicable).
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills, and pass a written assessment based on skills, abilities, academic knowledge, and safety.
- Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam and all required training/testing.
- Must be able to work a non-standard schedule, including shift work at a 24/7, 365-day operation.
- Promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment; pre-employment and ongoing drug/alcohol testing may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.

Employees who are required to work on-site are eligible for a $750 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines.
Pay
The estimated pay range for this role is $24.00 - $32.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
Location
Morenci operations is an open-pit copper mining complex located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191. The site has been in continuous operation since 1939 and includes two concentrators, a crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system, four SX plants, and three EW tank houses.
