TIRE REPAIR WORKER

Department of Facility Maintenance, Automotive Equipment Service Division is seeking three (3) Tire Repair Workers to perform tire repair and basic vehicle maintenance at the Halawa Corporation Yard.

Responsibilities

• Change, repair, mount, and replace tires and tubes on passenger vehicles, heavy trucks, construction equipment, and other heavy-duty equipment
• Operate tire changing machines, hydraulic lifts, impact tools, and other shop equipment
• Drive a non-CDL City Tire Repair & Service Truck to respond to roadside and job-site tire repair calls across Oahu
• Refuel diesel, gas, and L.P.G. powered vehicles and equipment
• Maintain written records of work performed, including work orders, inspection forms, and fuel records
• Keep the shop clean, safe, stocked, and organized
• Serve as a Disaster Response Worker during emergencies

Requirements

• Some experience and/or training in changing and repairing automotive and truck tires
• Desirable: experience repairing heavy vehicle tires, including roadside repair
• Possession of a valid driver’s license (automobile/Type 3) prior to appointment
• At time of application, must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
