Department of Facility Maintenance, Automotive Equipment Service Division is seeking three (3) Tire Repair Workers to perform tire repair and basic vehicle maintenance at the Halawa Corporation Yard.
Responsibilities
- Change, repair, mount, and replace tires and tubes on passenger vehicles, heavy trucks, construction equipment, and other heavy-duty equipment
- Operate tire changing machines, hydraulic lifts, impact tools, and other shop equipment
- Drive a non-CDL City Tire Repair & Service Truck to respond to roadside and job-site tire repair calls across Oahu
- Refuel diesel, gas, and L.P.G. powered vehicles and equipment
- Maintain written records of work performed, including work orders, inspection forms, and fuel records
- Keep the shop clean, safe, stocked, and organized
- Serve as a Disaster Response Worker during emergencies
Requirements
- Some experience and/or training in changing and repairing automotive and truck tires
- Desirable: experience repairing heavy vehicle tires, including roadside repair
- Possession of a valid driver’s license (automobile/Type 3) prior to appointment
- At time of application, must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
