Timekeeper and Administrative Support Analyst
About the role
The California Public Utilities Commission's Energy Division develops and administers energy policy and programs to serve the public interest, including addressing the climate crisis, advising the Commission, and ensuring compliance with Commission decisions and statutory mandates. The Personnel and Administration section supports the Energy Division and is critical to its success.
Responsibilities
- Process employee timesheets, leave activity, overtime documentation, and attendance records in ETS.
- Review and reconcile discrepancies, ensuring compliance with HR policies and bargaining unit provisions.
- Respond to staff inquiries regarding timekeeping procedures, coordinate with HR/Transactions, and maintain accurate records.
- Afford general administrative support, file management, and division communications.
- Schedule interviews, coordinate availability, prepare interview packets, and manage logistics.
- Serve as proctor for structured interviews by administering written exercises, reading instructions, monitoring timing, and ensuring confidentiality.
- Process and organize materials, rating sheets, and candidate documentation in accordance with state hiring rules.
- Request proceeding ownership updates from Senior Management for upcoming Commission Meetings via e-mail and WebEx Chat.
- Collect WAS/OGA documentation, update the proceedings spreadsheet, and maintain SharePoint folders for meeting preparations.
- Track responses, follow up on outstanding items, and ensure information is accurate and complete.
- Afford support for staff workshops, trainings, and in-person meetings.
- Prepare materials, manage sign-ins, set up rooms or virtual links, and provide on-site support during events.

Pay
Effective July 1, 2025, CalHR launched the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025 with Pay Differential 386. PLP 2025 temporarily reduces state employee pay in exchange for leave hours to help address budget shortfalls. Salary ranges in this posting exclude the temporary reduction. Schedule
This is an office-centered position requiring three (3) days in our San Francisco office with occasional telecommute opportunities not to exceed two (2) days per week.
