Looking for a job that keeps you active? Our Material Handler II's spend their days moving product, operating equipment, and staying physically engaged in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position requires lifting products weighing 50-70 lbs.

Schedule

  • 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday through Friday
  • Possible overtime and occasional Saturday work

Primary objective

Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of warehouse duties such as pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.), move, store, and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts
  • Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims
  • Operates forklift equipment
  • Maintains clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, restroom and general office maintenance, etc.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management
  • Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience
  • Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator
  • 1 or more years previous distribution/warehouse experience
  • Minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience (no experience required for pallet jack)
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Good record keeping skills
  • Good listening skills
  • Accurate measurement capability
  • Ability to understand and speak basic English
  • Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner
  • Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks

Physical requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms
  • Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • May be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance
  • May lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Average number of picks per hour is 25
  • Average weight per pick is between 40–70 lbs
  • Heavier picks (50–70 lbs) account for 65% of the work shift; lighter items (20–40 lbs) account for 35%
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
  • Noise level is usually loud
