Looking for a job that keeps you active? Our Material Handler II's spend their days moving product, operating equipment, and staying physically engaged in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position requires lifting products weighing 50-70 lbs.
Schedule
- 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday through Friday
- Possible overtime and occasional Saturday work
Primary objective
Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of warehouse duties such as pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.), move, store, and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts
- Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims
- Operates forklift equipment
- Maintains clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, restroom and general office maintenance, etc.
- Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management
- Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator
- 1 or more years previous distribution/warehouse experience
- Minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience (no experience required for pallet jack)
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Good record keeping skills
- Good listening skills
- Accurate measurement capability
- Ability to understand and speak basic English
- Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner
- Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks
Physical requirements
- Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms
- Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- May be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance
- May lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Average number of picks per hour is 25
- Average weight per pick is between 40–70 lbs
- Heavier picks (50–70 lbs) account for 65% of the work shift; lighter items (20–40 lbs) account for 35%
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
- Noise level is usually loud
