About the role
We’re looking for a System Administrator with experience in Windows system administration, virtualization, and classified environments to support reliable and secure operations within the Defense and Intelligence communities. As a System Administrator on our team, you’ll install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows-based systems and virtual environments. You’ll provide Tier 2 support for DoD missions, ensuring the current infrastructure is functional, available, and constantly improving using the latest technology and best implementation strategies.
Working alongside senior administrators and network engineers, you’ll contribute to system monitoring, update and patch critical systems, conduct performance checks, and resolve issues. You’ll help clients overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management, identify problem areas, and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. Your communication skills will be vital as you turn metrics into actionable information.
This role offers an opportunity to gain experience in virtualization while growing as a team. We focus on collaboration, sharing techniques, and developing new methodologies together.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows-based systems and virtual environments
- Provide Tier 2 support for DoD missions
- Ensure infrastructure functionality, availability, and continuous improvement
- Assist with system monitoring, updates, patching, and performance checks
- Resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement in mission-critical networks
- Translate metrics into meaningful information for stakeholders
- Collaborate with senior administrators and network engineers
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a system administrator, network technician, or cybersecurity technician
- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and managing virtual machines
- Experience with service ticketing systems
- Experience with tools such as Active Directory, SCCM, Dell WYSE Management System, Hyperflex, or SolarWinds
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Knowledge of Unix or Linux
- Ability to interpret and follow technical documentation and procedures
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
- HS diploma or GED
- Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tools such as LogRhythm or Jira
- Experience working with STIGs, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), or configuration baselines
- Knowledge of government system design or DoD cybersecurity processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or Cybersecurity
- CASP, CISSP, or CCNA Certification
- Red Hat RHCSA Certification

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Work model expectations:
- Remote: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.
Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
