Tier 2 IT Systems Administrator

Responsibilities

• Systems & Desktop Administration
• Manages Windows domain environments
• Supports desktop operations and troubleshooting
• Supports virtual machine builds and deployments
• Installs, configures, and maintains external workstation hardware and authorized software
• Performs server/workstation installations and technology refreshes
• Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves hardware and software issues
• Performs scheduled system upgrades
• Infrastructure & Endpoint Support
• Maintains IT infrastructure end-point devices
• Workstations and laptops
• Printers
• Desk and mobile phones
• Audio/visual equipment
• Maintains end-point data backups and ensures data integrity
• Supports patch management process
• Supports configuration management & change management activities and documentation
• Cybersecurity & Compliance Support
• Supports DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs)
• Assists in RMF artifact development and continuous monitoring activities
• Ensures systems align with DoD cybersecurity standards
• Collaboration & Documentation
• Works with a team supporting network-connected and standalone RDT&E laboratories
• Creates and maintains technical documentation
• Led and assists with projects as needed
• Utilizes multiple support tools and systems, including:
• MS Teams
• ServiceNow
• Active Directory
• Microsoft Configuration Manager

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret Clearance required
• Typical education: Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field
• 10+ years professional experience in computer systems analysis
• Experience supporting Windows domain environments
• Experience with virtual machine builds and deployments
• Experience with system patching and configuration management
• Familiarity with DISA STIG implementation and DoD cybersecurity practices
• Excellent troubleshooting and solution development skills
• Professional customer service attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desired Qualifications

• Windows 11 (Udemy or equivalent)
• Red Hat Linux System Administration (Udemy or equivalent)
• Mac OS Jamf (Udemy or equivalent)
• DCWF Windows System Administrator – Cyber Exchange/JKO (DISA-US1379)
• Microsoft Certified IT Professional (plus)
