Thrive Program Director

About the role

The Thrive Program Director will direct and supervise daily operations of The City of Winooski’s state-licensed Thrive After School and Summer Program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate enrichment activities for school-age children (grades K – 5).
• Work collaboratively with the Thrive Program Assistants to ensure a safe environment that complies with licensing regulations.
• Oversee daily operations and staffing of the program.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in education, child development, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Experience in program management and supervision.
• Knowledge of state licensing regulations for after school programs.

• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with program evaluation and data collection.
• Understanding of child development theories and practices.
