Thrive Program Assistant Director

About the role

The Thrive Program Assistant Director leads the design and delivery of age-appropriate, interest-driven enrichment activities for The City of Winooski's state-licensed Thrive After School and Summer Program. This role serves as the on-site program lead when the Program Director is off-site and collaborates with other staff to provide a safe, enriching out-of-school experience for school-age children (grades K–5) in Winooski throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of enrichment activities tailored to children’s interests and developmental stages.
• Serve as the on-site program lead in the absence of the Program Director.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain a safe, engaging, and compliant environment for children both on-site at the Winooski School District and in community settings.
• Ensure program compliance with State licensing regulations.

Requirements

• Experience working with school-age children (grades K–5) in an educational or recreational setting.
• Ability to design and implement age-appropriate, interest-driven activities.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of State licensing regulations for childcare or after-school programs.
• Commitment to fostering a safe, enriching, and inclusive environment.
