About the role
Part-time position averaging 20 hours per week (hours may vary). Reports to the Thrift Store Manager and/or Corps Officer.
Pay
$9.25–$9.75 per hour (non-exempt).

Responsibilities
- General cleanliness: Vacuum, mop, dust, clean restrooms, empty trash/cardboard, and perform other cleaning duties as assigned
- Retail/Processing:
- Operate cash register, greet and assist customers
- Help organize sorting room and item processing
- Coordinate pitch bags for rag pick-up
- Vacuum and spray pillows and furniture
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Thrift Store Manager or Corps Officer
- Safety:
- Always use a safety belt when lifting
- Arrange for available help for heavy items over 75 pounds
- Ensure sales aisles and exits are clear at all times

Requirements
- Ability to operate a cash register and accurately make change
- Dependable, honest, and able to work independently
- Good communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Neat, polite, and able to effectively relate to people
- Retail experience helpful
- Valid driver’s license
- Team player with a positive attitude, committed to the store’s success
- Must complete the following clearance and background checks as required by Pennsylvania’s Child Protective Services Law:
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- PA State Police Criminal Record Check
- PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check
- Completion of a Pennsylvania-approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training prior to employment
