Thrift Store Worker

Responsibilities

• Working with customers
• Lifting and carrying donated/ purchased items
• Sorting clothes
• Pricing items
• Preparing and placing items for display on the sales floor
• Operating a cash register and making change for purchased items
• Counting, reconciling of the cash drawer and making bank deposits at the end of day

Requirements

• Basic communications and math skills to make change
• Part-time position of 25 hours a week
• Pays $15.00 an hour

Qualifications

• High school/equivalent diploma and one year related work experience or two years work experience without diploma
• Ability to comprehend written job description, cleaning instructions and material safety data sheet
• Must be able to operate a cash register, make correct change for items sold and be bondable
• Essential to interact with customers and other staff in a manner which promotes positive relationships
• Must be a team player, a self-starter, and perform well with minimum supervision

Physical and Working Conditions

• Capable of performing the above essential duties
• Capable of continuously lifting 5 pounds, frequently lifting 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently moving 50 or more pounds using dolly/cart/truck
• Most work will be indoors
• The display room is a temperature-controlled environment; however, the sorting/back room/storage area will be cold in the winter and hot in the summer
