Third Shift Production Supervisor
Newly Weds Foods provides premium ingredients to some of the biggest brand names in the country. Our Watertown plant produces batter and breading food coatings.
About the role
We are currently looking for a Third Shift Supervisor to run our Breading Department producing very fine bread crumbs (also known throughout the industry as cracker meal). This position works under the direction of the Production Manager and is responsible for maintaining department production activities, processes, procedures, and employees to meet production and other assigned workload schedules.
You will work closely with lead personnel and other departments on ingredient issues, plan the department's activities to coordinate with production schedules, and maintain the department to meet customer specifications and schedules. You will also identify the root cause of problems, review with management, and implement corrective action.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Production Manager and QA on any production issues
- Demonstrate superior knowledge of ingredients and processes
- Lead by example, supporting and guiding the team
- Remain flexible to meet the needs of the business
- Operate forklifts (stand-up and sit-down units)
- Perform other duties or special projects as needed
- Fill in for the Production Manager in their absence under the direction of the Plant Manager
Requirements
- High school diploma (some college or advanced courses preferred)
- Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in production or a related field (a combination of education and experience will be considered)
- Proven record of adhering to quality, safety, and attendance policies
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA, company policies, procedures, and manufacturing/QA processes
- Must pass required testing for a supervisory position
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching, feedback, and conflict resolution
- Professional communication, analytical abilities, and strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- General knowledge of MS Office, AS400, and Lotus Notes
- Forklift certification
Pay
$65,000 - $95,000
