How You Will Contribute
- Maintain employee performance to ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Assign work schedules to optimize manpower, machines, and equipment utilization.
- Define and monitor production standards, and oversee inspection checks and quality assurance.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement encouraging suggestions for operational enhancements.
- Support company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
- Train new employees on divisional and organizational activities, safety policies, and procedures.
- Prepare daily time sheets, production summaries, overtime, and downtime reports for hourly employees.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of supervisory or management experience with a proven track record of strong leadership capabilities (including excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills).
- The ability to recognize hazardous substances and understand basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety.
- The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.
- The ability to communicate and interact positively with coworkers.
- Five years of supervisory or management experience in a steel industry setting is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectives.
- The ability to calculate figures such as pay changes for employees, proportions, percentages, and product dimensions.
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications
- Steel Industry Experience is a plus.
