Summary/Objective
The Production Supervisor & People Leader has overall responsibility for driving daily manufacturing excellence and fostering an inclusive, high-performing plant culture. This modern role balances operational outcomes (KPIs, schedules, safety) with human-centric leadership. The ideal candidate moves beyond traditional management to actively coach, inspire, and develop frontline teams.Essential Functions
Transformational Team Leadership & Coaching
- Unlocking Potential: Shifts from historical "command-and-control" to a collaborative coaching model. Asks impactful questions and lead developmental conversations.
- Upskilling & Growth: Proactively identifies skills gaps on the shop floor. Provides real-time feedback and cross-training to build a resilient, versatile workforce.
- Empowerment & Accountability: Sets transparent expectations. Delegates responsibilities cleanly to build trust and empower operators. Holds teams accountable through assertive, calm, and respectful communication.
- Inclusive Culture: Maintains an ethical workspace free of discrimination. Emphasizes active listening and empathy so every voice feels valued.
Shift Operations & Productivity
- Workflow Optimization: Manages shift schedules and balances labor allocations to meet strict customer ship dates.
- Equipment & Downtime Management: Partners with Engineering and Maintenance to minimize machine downtime. Guides the technical floor team through swift troubleshooting.
- Data & Performance Reporting: Submits accurate, timely daily output reviews to the Production Manager.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Proactive Hazard Resolution: Maintains rigid plant safety, high-standard housekeeping, and compliance with SOPs and cGMPs.
- Transparent Incident Reporting: Cultivates a transparent reporting culture where safety misses or non-conformances are logged instantly without fear of blame.
- Continuous Quality Improvement: Aligns all shift workflows with ISO standards. Authors clear, modernized work instructions to drive standardization.
Required Education and Experience
- Five years related supervisory experience.
- BS/BA preferred.
- Technical skills to include equipment operations and trouble shooting.
- Leverage Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
