Third Shift Data Center Operations Technician III

About the Role

The Data Center Operations Technician is responsible for all IT Infrastructure, including customer configurations, within the data center environment, ensuring all customer server environments are secure, operational, and maintain 99.999% uptime. This role is onsite in Buffalo, NY, on the 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and prioritize an internal ticketing system to provide customer support.
• Perform basic operating system storage troubleshooting, storage upgrades, hardware troubleshooting, and RAID configuration changes.
• Provide hardware support and upgrades for servers running Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Server, Ubuntu Linux, or VMWare ESX Server.
• Conduct simple operating system administration tasks, including setting up OS network IPs, fresh OS installs (using PXE), firmware updates, and basic OS troubleshooting.
• Install or remove fiber or copper cabling, including Layer 1 network skills such as testing and resolving connectivity issues.
• Install network device hardware, including switches, firewalls, load-balancers, and security appliances.
• Install hardware on storage devices, including DAS and NAS arrays.
• Complete customer maintenance requests, including hardware modifications, operating system installations, device mounting within cabinets, and cabling requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years of experience working in a data center environment.
• Ability to build, repair, or upgrade hardware components.
• Strong understanding of storage RAID configurations and requirements.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. overhead.

Pay

The compensation range for this position is $57,371.00/year in our lowest geographic market up to $76,529.00/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonuses or incentives, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
