This position supports the Propulsion Systems Division located at our Magna, Utah facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform activities and tasks associated with final processing of rocket motors and components, motor disassembly, motor handling, and shipping processes in Finishing Building 3.
• Learn and demonstrate the ability to safely and efficiently perform rocket motor finishing operations, including installation of igniters, nozzles, bracketry, pressurized leak tests, and finishing operations to tight tolerances.
• Safely operate equipment associated with finishing operations.
• Read, interpret, and accurately follow procedures, standard work instructions, engineering drawings, and specifications to meet all requirements.
• Certify and sustain all Quality Manufacturing-to-Inspect (MTI) requirements associated with the area.
• Complete and sustain proficiencies in all required training, including skill-based training.
• Learn and demonstrate the ability to safely and efficiently perform rocket motor moves using cranes, hand pallet jacks, and other powered equipment.
• Operate hand tools, powered tools, tooling, powered equipment, lifting equipment, overhead cranes, and other equipment safely and competently.
• As part of a handling team, safely perform spotting operations and execute directions of the move director.
• Physically lift objects up to 50 pounds individually.
• Assist less experienced co-workers in acquiring skills and experiences to fully function in the work area.
• Communicate effectively and constructively with leadership, coworkers, and support team members.
• Participate in PES improvement activities, process/procedure improvements, and standard work instructions to enhance the work area.
• Engage in SIS activities, hazard abatements, OP-E, Take Two, and other safety initiatives.
• Demonstrate initiative and ability to become knowledgeable and proficient in area processes as directed.
• Work to enhance personal safety, quality, cost, and scheduling.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

• Bids shall be awarded to the senior qualified employee, considering ability to perform the work, essential job functions, specific job experience, past job performance, and factors contributing to safe workmanship.
• In the event of insufficient bids, the position will be filled in accordance with other provisions of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
• May be required to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Upon successful bid award, the employee will be restricted from bidding in accordance with the current CBA.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.
