Thermal Field Service Technician
About the role
The Thermal Field Service Technician supports data center cooling systems by performing startup, commissioning, and scheduled or emergency service. They are also responsible for preventative maintenance tasks such as coil cleaning, filter changes, fluid samples, and fluid remediation. The technician must obtain the EPA 608 license within six months of their hire date.
Responsibilities
- Support products and services within the Thermal product family
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks including coil cleaning, filter changes, fluid samples, and fluid remediation
- Take unit readings and measure temperatures, voltages, pressures, and controller diagnostics
- Establish, promote, and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives, and others as appropriate
Qualifications
- Experience working with Mechanical and Electrical systems
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Familiarity with electrical and electronic test equipment and fundamentals
- Technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills and understanding of computer logic
- HVAC basic understanding preferred, but not required
- Elementary fix/repair techniques based on directed supervision
- Strong mathematical capabilities
- Ability to work on ladders or at heights and on roofs
- Past the EPA 608 license within 6 months of hire

While performing duties of the above jobs, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell. The associate frequently is required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequent driving (car, van, truck). Must be able to consistently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Extreme cold (below 32*). Extreme heat (above 100*). Noise Level (Medium / High need to shout to be heard). Working around moving machinery (fork-lifts, tractors). Protective Equipment Required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, mask, etc.). Work outdoors (no effective protection from weather). Travel is required. Flexible schedules (weekends, evenings, and holidays). May have on-call responsibility. Valid driver’s license. Must be at least 18 years old.
