About the role
Provides speech-language pathology services by evaluating and assessing patients to establish functional goals, developing treatment plans, and delivering care to promote recovery of communication and swallowing abilities. Communicates findings, documents interventions, and reassesses patient progress to ensure effective care. Prepares discharge plans including patient and family education, follow-up, and referrals to community resources. Supervises clinical students and support staff, contributes to staff development, and participates in quality improvement activities. Adheres to ethical standards and maintains professional licensure and certifications.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients through subjective and objective information gathering.
- Communicate evaluation results to patients and caregivers.
- Implement treatment plans to meet established goals.
- Document clinical interventions in medical records.
- Evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjust plans as needed.
- Develop discharge plans including education and community referrals.
- Support staff and student development.
- Participate in initiatives to improve healthcare delivery.
- Complete assigned clinical and administrative goals.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program with Clinical Fellowship completion.
- Valid SLP-CCC licensure and BLS Certification within 14 days of hire.
- Basic computer literacy skills such as keyboarding and navigating sites.
