Therapist-Respiratory Registered

The Respiratory Therapist provides critical respiratory care by assessing patients, developing and implementing care plans, administering medications, and evaluating treatment effectiveness. They serve as a clinical resource, offering specialized support to healthcare teams and fostering a caring environment that promotes healing.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop personalized care plans.
• Implement and evaluate respiratory treatments.
• Administer prescribed medications and provide health education to patients and families.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Provide clinical leadership and support continuous learning.
• Complete assigned goals effectively.

Qualifications

• Current state license and RRT credential per the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Recent clinical experience in hospital, home care, or skilled nursing settings.
• Hospital and departmental orientation completion.
• Proficiency in computer literacy, particularly Windows OS and Microsoft Office.
• Basic computer skills are required; advanced skills are preferred.
• Licensure exams passed for RCPs, including BLS; ACLS, PALS, and NRP are desirable.
