About the role
The Therapist at FCC provides mental health assessments, psychotherapy, and substance abuse services to help clients improve their well-being. They enhance the training, education, and professionalism of outpatient services and staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychotherapy and/or substance abuse counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
- Maintain a caseload of at least 70% of time allocated for psychotherapy.
- Adhere to laws regarding client rights, confidentiality, and privacy as governed by HIPAA, governing standards, and FCC policies.
- Treat all FCC contracted services, including Treatment Court Programs, Jail Programming, Family 2.0, and other groups.
- Work in group settings, meet with team members, and inform the Program Coordinator about updates.
- Document client files using the agency's Electronic Health Record system and ensure timely documentation.
- Maintain positive relationships with referral sources and assure clients/purchasers of the highest quality services.
- Demonstrate commitment and professionalism through advocacy, training, or education within the community.
- Participate in supervision, staff meetings, and other agency meetings as requested.
- Facilitate two trainings annually on areas of expertise.
- Maintain certification/licensure in good standing and stay current in required staff development hours.
- Perform community presentations or other outreach services as required.
- Maintain regular communication with the direct supervisor.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Counseling, Social work, or related field.
- Licensed and third-party billable as a mental health professional.
- In good standing with the licensing board.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to market services and demonstrate the agency’s mission, vision, and values.
- Must meet core competency requirements: Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Recovery Model, CBT, Risk Assessment, and one other approved specialty training.
