Therapy Trainee

About the role

The University of Southern California Counseling & Mental Health and USC Athletics are pleased to announce a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Sport Psychology for the 2026-2027 academic year. The position is a full-time 12-month appointment (fixed-term) providing clinical services to the university's student-athlete population.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention, psychoeducation groups and seminars, and performance enhancement for USC student-athletes.
• Conduct clinical ADHD evaluations (no testing).
• Assist with outreach, programming, and research.
• Facilitate and train in team performance enhancement.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
• Completed APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship.
• Self-motivated, growth-minded individual with strong clinical skills and experience.
• Experience working with diverse populations and training in multicultural populations.
• Organized, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and open to feedback.

Qualifications

• Strong ethical and professional skills.
• Experience as a high school or college athlete is helpful but not required.

$24.07 - $39.94 per hour.
