About the Role

At Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, the Therapeutic Group Home (TGH) Manager provides leadership to Mental Health Workers to ensure a safe, trauma-informed care environment. This role serves as an active member of the Leadership Team, partnering with other leaders to uphold the mission and values of Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch while working toward strategic goals. The TGH Manager also acts as a primary point of contact for outside agencies, partners, and youth families.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and guide Mental Health Workers and Lead Mental Health Workers to ensure professional training, certification, and adherence to YBGR policies and treatment philosophy.
  • Ensure a safe environment for youth that supports quality care and achievement of treatment goals.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as part of regular service delivery or on an as-needed/on-call basis.
  • Oversee administrative areas, including scheduling, supervision, budgetary and fiscal matters, and other assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate as a member of the Lodge’s Treatment Team.
  • Ensure timely, outcomes-based treatment planning documentation for all MTPRs and correct implementation of individualized treatment plans.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with residents' families and collaterals.

Requirements

  • 21 years old or older.
  • Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background checks as required by the State of Montana.
  • Education and Experience:
    • An advanced degree in social work or a comparable human service field and two years of relevant experience; or
    • A bachelor’s degree in social work or a comparable human service field and four or more years of relevant experience.

    Internal candidates who do not fully meet the above requirements but demonstrate competency and potential may be considered with a personalized career development plan, including enhanced supervision and completion of any unmet educational requirements.

  • Valid license to operate a passenger vehicle.

Pay

Salary Range: $1,841.80 - $2,072.96 bi-weekly. This reflects steps 1-5 of an 11-step pay schedule, with the starting salary determined based on the applicant’s education and relevant experience.
