Responsibilities
- Planning, developing, and implementing programs and activities appropriate for the assigned population.
- Ensuring treatment techniques and activities utilized are appropriate and consistent with contemporary standards.
- Ensuring comprehensive services are available to inmates which meet a range of treatment needs.
- Completing necessary assessments on program participants.
- Scheduling daily activities of the substance abuse program, including group and individual counseling.
- Providing support and behavioral groups as needed for general population inmates.
- Offering one-on-one counseling related to the concepts.
- Developing a treatment plan.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University with a CSAC, CADC, or CAADC certification preferred, or a Certified Peer Recovery.
- Prefer some course work in the human service field and some advanced course work in substance abuse treatment or current education/training in substance abuse treatment or willing to work towards obtainment of CSAC (Virginia Certified Substance Abuse Certification).
- Experience working in a corrections environment if not certified must be eligible for Virginia Certified Substance Abuse Certification (CSAC).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to interact with individuals from different educational and cultural backgrounds.
Pay
Full-Time: $55,894 – $82,100
Schedule
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
