Responsibilities
- Create master schedule of all technical events associated with a show production.
- Create, adjust, and monitor construction, fabrication, programming, install, and strike schedules as needed while maintaining contingency plans for all project phases.
- Maintain quality, suitability, and accuracy of technical designs for all assigned shows.
- Operate and program a lighting console.
- Create plans for installation of permanent shows and large-scale events.
- Lead technical meetings and interface with design, construction, and production staff.
- Coach, mentor, direct, constructively criticize, and objectively evaluate subordinate project support personnel.
- Direct technical personnel in performing short-term and permanent repairs to a variety of theatrical equipment.
- Specify technical equipment to ensure show readiness and longevity.
- Direct the installation of theatrical equipment for events and permanent show installations.
- Interface with other park professionals and outside clients and contractors to convey design concepts.
- Train and convey production standards to other departmental park employees and contract technicians.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Comfortable working in various local parks, including those near water and at heights up to 60'.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of leading a team.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft applications.
- Knowledge of theatrical lighting plots and ability to interpret and direct installation of theatrical lighting plots.
- Understanding of entertainment project management, including show production and operations processes.
- Experience in theatrical design or entertainment project management.
- Comprehensive understanding of entertainment industry products, vendors, and sources.
- Flexible availability to work varying shifts, including opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Entertainment, Theater, or Management, or equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of electrical principles, including voltage, amperage, wattage, voltage drops, and cable sizing.
- Understanding of rigging equipment and flying systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of theatrical products and vendors.
Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Physical activities: kneeling, bending, squatting, reaching overhead, simple grasping, fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
- Exposure to noise, vibrations, and motion.
- Exposure to extreme heat and cold temperatures.
- Exposure to fumes, dust, odors, and other environmental factors.
