Summary
The Grand Sierra Resort is seeking a Manager for The POOL. The role involves overseeing daily operations, providing excellent customer service, managing staff, resolving guest issues, and maintaining cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with guests professionally, answering questions and offering assistance.
- Maintain cleanliness of bars, pool, and surrounding areas.
- Ensure pool and surrounding areas meet department standards and are suitable for guest use.
- Manage opening, daily, and closing procedures.
- Train, delegate tasks, and work closely with all team members to ensure success.
- Ensure team members adhere to Health Department standards and maintain a neat, clean, and organized environment.
- Provide clear communication and direction, keeping team members informed and educated on current initiatives.
- Attend and participate in all meetings, relay relevant information and events to management.
- Interview, hire, coach, and train team members to ensure company guidelines are followed and guests receive the best service.
- Analyze guest feedback, make logical judgments, and implement suggestions for improvement.
- Daily schedule and report maintenance, adjust staffing levels as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
Qualifications
- Present a professional appearance.
- Support, promote, and demonstrate superior guest service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
- Aware of all property events and activities and effectively communicate information through the company and to potential guests.
- Prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Have working knowledge of POS terminals.
- Have complex reading, writing, math, and task completion skills.
- Have clerical, compiling, coordinating, analyzing, supervising, instructing, precision working, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem-solving, independent judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Be flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in hospitality, pool setting, or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications and Licenses
- Must maintain appropriate Gaming License & Alcohol Awareness card.
Physical Demands
- Constantly sit, stand, walk, reach overhead, bend over, frequently crouch, and kneel during the duration of their shift.
- Frequently push/pull 50lbs and occasionally 100lbs.
- Constantly use both feet for repetitive use.
- Constantly use one dominant hand and occasionally the non-dominant hand for repetitive use.
- Occasionally use firm/strong grasping motion.
- Finger dexterity of both hands is frequently required.
- Constantly use vision abilities including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.
Work Environment
- Indoors and outdoors, alone and frequently with and around others.
- Face-to-face verbal contact with others on extended shifts in possible confined areas around computer equipment, mechanical equipment, and other electrical devices.
- Exposure to extreme heat/cold, vibrations, slippery surfaces, high places, moving objects, fumes/odor, and/or secondhand smoke.
