JOB SUMMARY AND DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK
The Pool Manager is responsible for supervision activities, monitoring staff, and managing water chemistry at the Greenbelt Aquatic & Fitness Center to ensure a safe and high-quality swimming environment. The Pool Manager must also be a certified Lifeguard, bringing strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, along with energy and motivation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Take precautions and preventive actions to Ensure lifeguards are on duty whenever the pool is in use.
- Provide adequate facility supervision.
- Enforce established swimming pool rules and regulations appropriately.
- Maintain pool and spa water quality in accordance with health code regulations.
- Conduct facility and mechanical equipment checks before opening and closing.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary facility.
- Enforce uniform requirements and standards of personal appearance.
- Instruct personnel to provide courteous, helpful, and informative service to patrons.
- Supervise cashier opening and closing procedures.
- Keep a daily log of questions, problems, and situations for reference by other managers and full-time staff.
- Oversee conduct and discipline of patrons and personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Minimum age 18 (preferred 21 or older).
- Prince George’s County Pool Operator’s License.
- Current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Automated External Defibrillation (AED).
- One year’s knowledge and experience of swimming pool management and supervisor skills and three years’ lifeguarding experience.
