The Character Effect Specialist will play a key role in delivering The Character Effect™ program to school communities, supporting teachers, administrators, students, and parents.

As a contemporary parenting center, Beech Acres serves over 35,000 people annually through foster care, kinship care, adoption, behavioral health support in schools, parent coaching, and more. All programs are grounded in the Natural Strength Parenting™ framework, which helps parents build on their unique strengths.
Responsibilities
- Deliver The Character Effect™ program to school populations, including teachers, administrators, students, and parents.
- Coordinate full-model program implementation with school/partner staff, including scheduling professional developments, coaching sessions, family engagement events, and Social Emotional Learning data collection.
- Build positive relationships with school staff using strengths in Social Intelligence, Perseverance, and Bravery.
- Use evidence-based coaching practices (e.g., powerful questions, mindful listening) in one-on-one and group coaching with teachers.
- Informally observe teachers, model lessons, and use these opportunities to build rapport and offer support in program implementation.
- Facilitate workshops and prevention groups for students ranging from Pre-K to high school.
- Apply adult learning theories to develop and facilitate Professional Development workshops.
- Support the Family Engagement Specialist in scheduling, publicizing, and facilitating family engagement events.
- Partner with the Customer Success Manager to meet diverse partner needs and empower leadership to invest in program success.
- Integrate mindfulness, character strengths, and intentionality into work and relationships with colleagues and school staff.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with Beech Acres colleagues and school staff on program implementation matters.
- Demonstrate cultural competency by communicating respectfully and professionally with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
- Collaborate with colleagues on innovation opportunities to ensure program materials and workshops are engaging and effective.
- Embrace rapid cycle learning and experiment design strategies.
- Travel within a 90-mile radius of Cincinnati to provide in-person support (some evening and weekend hours required).
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Liberal Arts, Psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Ohio Teaching License strongly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in education, teaching, training, or a related field.
- Training and/or knowledge in mindfulness, mindful movement, social/emotional learning, positive psychology, and VIA character strengths.
- Comfortable facilitating training to large audiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments within prescribed parameters.

Pay
$22.07 to $24.62 hourly.
