Primary Function

An art program specialist is responsible for developing and implementing art programs for individuals of all ages. They create an inclusive environment where participants can engage in various art forms, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and crafts. The specialist plans and organizes art classes, workshops, and exhibitions, ensuring that they align with the organization's mission and goals. They also collaborate with other staff members to coordinate schedules, recruit and train volunteers, and manage art supplies and facilities. Additionally, the specialist may provide guidance and mentorship to participants, fostering creativity, self-expression, and appreciation for the arts.

Training

  • Training in Youth Development Skills/Knowledge Required
  • High School diploma or GED & currently working to complete a two or four-year degree
  • Experience in working with children
  • Knowledge of youth development
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
  • Valid State Drivers License

Criminal Background Check & Drug Test

  • Candidates must be able to pass Criminal Background Check & Drug Test

Training in Boys & Girls Club Basics & Safety 101

  • Training in Boys & Girls Club Basics & Safety 101 to be completed the first week of hire
  • Milestone 1 trainings to be completed within 30 days
  • Milestone 2 trainings to be completed within 60 days
  • Attend Monthly trainings for positive youth development
